ESTABLISH PRIORITIES

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, most of us look ahead toward the next major holiday.
That holiday is typically associated with a religious perspective. Regardless of your beliefs, I advise you to prioritize your time, your talent, your money, and all of your resources.

It is likely you have heard the saying, "The Reason for the Season is Jesus".. Ask yourself a very personal question? Be honest? What is the reason you celebrate the holiday season? Is it related to gift giving/receiving, connecting with family and friends, or to honor God and the blessings He has bestowed upon you?

Now is the time to establish your priorities.

Fellowship with like minded people. People who love you for who you are not what you do!
Serve directly or indirectly, those in need. Give of yourself not simply your finances.
Forgive those who have hurt you and if possible, make amends in writing or in person.
Remember that Love is a decision, an action word not an emotion.
Make prayer your means of communicating with God.
God knows your heart. Do unto others with pure motives.
Don't wait to make New Year Resolutions.
Begin today because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Please let me hear from you. I value your thoughts and will pray for your needs.

     Love, Yaya

Book Signing Today

Good Morning!

This is the day that the Lord has made...
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

My book signing is TODAY!
Hope you had a very blessed Thanksgiving and you are excited about moving on in your quest for joy and meaning! My latest book will serve as an encouragement and provide valuable tools for your journey.

If you have a close friend or relative struggling with anxiety or depression. Offer them "Worry, Fret, and Fear...No More" as a gift for eliminating those strongholds in their lives.

More later!  I need to prepare spiritually, mentally, and physically for this afternoon's
engagement.

A story of gratitude

This day before Thanksgiving serves as a reminder of the meaning of Thanksgiving.
Some people are already looking past Thanksgiving to the next holiday. It is kicked off by shopping sprees meant to get the best buys/prices on gifts to be distributed to loved ones and friends.

In Christian circles we are often reminded that "the reason for the season"is the birth of our Lord, Jesus. Yet today I feel compelled to remind everyone, of every faith, to use today and tomorrow to give thanks to the God of the universe for our protection and provision.

If you are not of the habit to keep a gratitude journal, this is an excellent time to begin. New beginnings are not limited to the first of January. Before you go to bed tonight, write five things for which you are grateful for today. There may be nights when the fifth thing may be that this day is over. Be specific. Tomorrows blessings will be recorded tomorrow. Rest assured, there will be many. Open your ears and listen. Open your eyes and see. Be attentive to the blessings we take for granted.

I will close with this simple act of kindness on the part of a crippled old woman.  I needed a quarter to "borrow" a grocery cart at Aldi's. You insert the quarter and the chained cart is released. Upon leaving the store, you replace the cart and retrieve your quarter. I did find one flimsy quarter in my vehicle but as I left the car I noticed a woman with a cane emptying the contents of her grocery cart. It occurred to me that she would need to walk all the way back to the entrance of the store to return the cart and fetch her money. I offered to give her my quarter in exchange for her cart. She refused my money and thanked me for saving her the walk back. She told me to pass it on upon my shopping completion. Indeed, I did. That went into my gratitude journal- stated in two simple sentences.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving whatever your circumstance. Experience peace and gratitude.

"A well written spiritual guide.  It helps eliminate fear and worrying by bringing the reader into a close relationship with God, trusting in His strength and promises."

Here is Dr. Ringler's review of my recently published books: " Worry, Fret and Fear.. No More!" and "Creating Balance & Purpose in your Life".

(Submitted by Dr. Marlene Ringler.  Author of "I AM ME".  The story of parenting an adult Asperger Syndrome child. )

"Dr. Phyllis Kuehnl-Walters has written two books to inspire and encourage persons to adopt a more healthy and positive outlook on life and the challenges we face on a daily basis.  She selects relevant biblical passages to support her ideas about how to reduce worry and fear and to trust that a strong faith and belief will sustain even the most skeptical. Her wonderful ability to narrate by using both personal examples and universal truths make her books easy to read and serve as practical guides to a more healthful view on our existence.  These books will serve as gifts to those seeking guidance and reassurance that life is filled with constant challenges which can be addressed in a spirit of optimism, faith and trust.

About Me

I am a retired psychologist from Ohio. I am now "re-fired" as an author, writer and inspirational speaker. I live in Florida with my husband and a significant number of grandchildren and great grandchildren nearby.

I enjoy volunteering at Casa Hope Inc. a Christian transitional home for young men who have made poor life choices, been incarcerated, struggled with addictions and need a structured environment. Casa Hope provides course work that is intended to empower these men to successfully merge into the mainstream community. The courses I teach are Anger Management as well as my published books entitled " Worry, Fret and Fear.. No More!" and "Creating Balance & Purpose in your Life".

"Worry, Fret and Fear.. No More!" is actually a six week journey to eliminate the habit of worrying and overcome fears.

"Creating Balance & Purpose in your Life" is useful in learning to navigate the seasons of your life with joy and meaning.
